Hardy Boyz To Team For First Time In Three Years

In December, Jeff Hardy was released by WWE after he walked out midway through a match.

Specify details explaining why haven’t yet been revealed, although his brother Matt says that Jeff was drug tested at the time and clean.

Whether this is accurate, we may never know, however, subsequent appearances by Jeff appear to show him in good health and drug-free.

It has been announced that the Hardy Boyz will be competing side by side in March for the first time since April 2019.

Now, it has been announced that the brothers are set to wrestle again for the first time together since a SmackDown house show in April 2019. The pair are booked for a Big Time Wrestling show on March 12th, which would be just after Jeff’s WWE non-compete expires, and the tweet below promises it is just one of many matches as a Hardy Boyz 22 tour is announced.

The expectation is that Jeff, who is still one of the most popular wrestlers in the business, will end up alongside his brother Matt in AEW. Yet, given the circumstances of his WWE departure, it would be understandable that he needs to prove himself on the independents before becoming All Elite. This tour would seemingly give him the ideal opportunity to do this.

Big Time Wrestling announced the reunion, confirming that Matt and Jeff will be teaming together on Sunday, March 12th. The brother’s haven’t wrestled as a team since April 2019 when they were both still with WWE.

At time of writing there is no news on who the legendary team will be facing.

The Hardy Boyz last teamed together on WWE television on the April 9th, 2019 episode of SmackDown where the defeated The Usos to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. However, they were forced to vacate the titles less than three weeks later, after Jeff sustained a knee injury. When Jeff returned to action the pair went their separate ways on television with Matt eventually leaving the company in early March 2020 when his contract expired. By the end of the month he had joined AEW, where he still appears today.

Jeff Hardy remained with WWE for almost another two years, before being released on December 9th, 2021. At the time it was reported that Hardy’s departure was a result of him turning down rehab after a “rough night” at a live event. It was also noted that he had missed a number of signing appearances.

This naturally led to huge concern from fans and colleagues alike about the former World Champion’s health. However, Hardy has since been pictured looking healthy and feeling “very happy” at a recent meet and greet event.

Speaking later in December, Matt Hardy said that he hoped the pair would be able to end their careers as a team in AEW.
