Possible Match for The Rock at WrestleMania 33
Life & Style magazine reports that “an insider” is claiming that the feud between The Rock and Vin Diesel will lead to a match at WrestleMania, which in turn would promote the release of Fast 8 in April of 2017.“The Rock convinced Vin to amp up the drama between them so they could turn it into a WWE match to help promote the April 2017 release of Fast 8,” the insider said.
As previously reported, The Rock ripped Vin Diesel on social media, writing that while some of his male co-stars “conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals… others don’t.” He also stated that “the ones that don’t are too chicken s–t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.”
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Tries to Settle Feud With Vin Diesel
According to an ‘insider,’ the Hollywood heavyweights came up with the idea to generate more publicity for Fast 8.The source told Life & Style that Johnson and Diesel will settle their (fake) differences in the ring at WrestleMania 33, which takes place two weeks before Fast 8 is released next year.
“They are playing a huge prank, and it’s all for publicity,” the insider said.
“The Rock convinced Vin to amp up the drama between them so they could turn it into a WWE match to help promote the April 2017 release of Fast 8.”
The so-called feud between the two famous fellas was first made public when Johnson blasted some of his male co-stars from Fast 8 on Instagram.
“Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t,” he wrote.
“The ones that don’t are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.”
It was later revealed by TMZ that Johnson was referring to Diesel who he allegedly butted heads with on the set of the film.
Johnson later addressed the feud again on Instagram, writing: “Like with any team — that’s a family — there’s gonna be conflict. Family is gonna have differences of opinion and fundamental core beliefs.”
“To me, conflict can be a good thing, when it’s followed by great resolution. I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it. And like any family, we get better from it.”
Earlier this week, Vin Diesel thanked his Fast & Furious fans in a lengthy Facebook video where he revealed Dwayne Johnson wasn’t originally meant to star in the franchise.
“The reason we brought Dwayne Johnson into Fast 5 was because of you!” he said.
“There was a [fan] named Jan Kelly who said, ‘I would love to see you guys work together on screen.’ So we gave the role that was originally written for Tommy Lee Jones, we gave it to Dwayne and he shined in it.”
Johnson responded by thanking some of his Fast 8 co-stars on Instagram but he didn’t mention Diesel.
“That’s officially a wrap on #FastAndFurious8,” Johnson wrote.
“Thank you to our director @fgarygray for the vision and execution. Thank you UNIVERSAL for being tremendous partners as always, thank you to all my fellow co-stars for the daily effort and grind. Scott Eastwood you handsome sumbitch! Natalie Emmanuel I have a cold Budweiser ready for you and Tyrese Gibson you still have the biggest smile and forehead I’ve ever seen.”
